It’s official, OnePlus’s next flagship smartphone — OnePlus 6 — is launching in India on May 17. The company will be holding the launch event of the OnePlus 6 in Mumbai on May 17. The entry vouchers to attend the event will be available via the company’s official website oneplus.in from 10:00 IST on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

According to the company, all attendees will get a gift hamper with add-ons and exclusive Marvel Avengers merchandise. The launch event will also be live-streamed on the company’s India website OnePlus.in.

Earlier in the day, OnePlus teased the launch of OnePlus 6 smartphone on its Chinese website. The smartphone is launching in China on the same day at an event scheduled for 10 am (Beijing time).

Last week, OnePlus 6 went up for registrations on e-commerce website Amazon in India. Like all other OnePlus smartphones, OnePlus 6 too will be an Amazon-exclusive smartphone. Also, it is very likely that the smartphone will launch in India in the first wave itself.

OnePlus will also be holding an exclusive OnePlus 6 sale for Amazon Prime members beginning at 12:00 IST on May 21, 2018.

Rumors and leaks about the upcoming OnePlus 6 smartphone have been doing rounds on the internet for months now. Latest of them is that the device will feature a glass back. The Chinese company itself has confirmed several specifications of the smartphone via teasers.

1. OnePlus 6 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor,

2. 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage.

3. OnePlus 6 will be water-resistant. This is the first OnePlus device to come with the water-resistant rating.

Previous reports have also claimed that OnePlus will be the company’s most-expensive smartphone till date.

An image revealing the details of the upcoming smartphone too had appeared on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo. According to the image, OnePlus 6 will be priced at $749 (Rs 48,800 approximately). This pricing, if true, will make it almost 50% more expensive than the company’s current-generation flagship OnePlus 5T which launched at a price tag of $499.
